We start the U-Bahn walk on the oldest line - this station opened in August 1902 as Warschauer Brücke.

Cut off from the rest of the U1 when the Berlin Wall was constructed, Warschauer Brücke was closed in 1961. It was renamed for consistency with the S-Bahn station on reopening in 1995.

Opened in 1913 as part of an extension that was never completed, Uhlandstraße has only recently become fully functional - between 1970 and 1993 trains from here ran only to Kurfürstendamm just down the road!
